PHOTO ALBUM TIPS

Photo Albums
Photo albums are the traditional way of storing your photos, including Halloween photographs. There are many types of photo albums to be found from the usual book type to photo blocks to the flap type that can hold up to 300 pictures. These are simple books used for filing photographs and usually don't have any space to record dates, people or places. Some can be found in higher end department stores that include a space along the binder for adding info about the photos filed.

While a photo album is fine for storing away photos to keep them from getting dirty, dusty and finger printed, you might want to try your hand at something more creative.  With the advent of digital photography and digital cameras becoming less and less expensive, going digital makes sense! Cameras range from very inexpensive key ring cameras and digital cameras for kids all the way up to very high end, expensive digital cameras. You can also buy docking stations that print your photos out on the spot. You can take your camera to almost any place film is developed and use the digital picture center to print out your photos there. You can also load them into your computer and use your existing printer to print your photos.

Digital Photo Albums
Also called Digital Photo Frames, this is the latest way to display your digital photos. They range in size from one's that will fit on your keychain to large desktop and wall mountable versions. Keychain versions are very compact and can usually store from fifty to seventy-five pictures.

Desktop and wall mountable versions range from a few inches in size up to a whopping fifteen inches. The better digital photo albums have a USB connection for transferring your pictures from your computer to the digital photo album. Some play slideshows of your photos set to change every few seconds and even include playing MP3 music in the background.

One of the better desktop models is Fuji's "Slim 7-inch Widescreen LCD Digital Picture Frame". It has a 480 x 240 resolution and supports standard JPEG images, plus a variety of video file formats. To move your pictures and video from your computer you can use your USB port or a flash/memory card. It even comes with a hand-held remote control and built-in clock and calendar.

Most all digital frames use an SD Memory card to hold the photos. Standard size is 1 gigabyte. This size card will hold more photos then you'll ever want to show!

Online Photo Albums
There are a number of general purpose online photo album services available. These sites allow you to upload you favorite Halloween pictures to a personal photo gallery of your own. They allow you to create different folders to keep pictures in so you can have, for instance, a Halloween folder, a Christmas folder, a vacation fold, etc.

This type of service works well if you have lots of friends and family scattered all over the country or over seas. You just send them the address and they can all go check out your latest batch of photos!
